Chandelier for serious collectors of Art Nouveau lighting. Beautiful, elegant and pure design. Large 75cm (30”) diameter ideal for a dining, living room, office or even above a billiard table; with 4 down facing sockets it gives off lots of light. Antique original considered early 20th Century (pre WWI) production. Based on its provenance produced in France but it could be Belgian as this country had an important Art Nouveau movement lead by their great architect Victor HORTA.
Photos are provided of the fixture Art Nouveau details including the 3 panels, with 3 narrow vertical lines stylishly tapering to connect to the central pole. The panels’ bottom section with Art Nouveau motifs pressed into the metal and curved to attach to the socket arm. The central cage to house the socket and support the central glass shade. The curved socket arms with their classic Art Nouveau goose neck and bell shaped socket cover. Brass fixture has been cleaned and polished and is in excellent condition.
Complementing the fixture are 4 opalescent glass shades. Their pale blue tint harmonises beautifully with the brass fixture. Their size is balanced and proportional to the fixture. No chips and cracks to the glass.
Fixture newly rewired OK for 220v or 110v.
