2427 Wine bottle rest carved red marble

€0.00

Wine enthusiast conversation piece for yourself or as a gift. Red Marble wine bottle rest. I would expect this to be hand carved and not machine made because the vine and grape carving would be difficult to machine produce. Plus during the period there were many skilled stone carvers in France. Sculpted on a 2cm thick (3/4") piece of red marble and surface polished.

I got this in Burgundy where I live and believe and expect this to be from this part of France. From its shape, and condition would date it somewhere in the 1930s.

6" diameter x 3/4" thick weight 1.6 lbs

14cm diameter x 2cm thick weight 760g
